Game 1 – Shota Imanaga BXZ vs Zack Wheeler AXYZ

 

Game 1 starts off with a bang.  Mookie Betts leads off the top of the 1st with a solo HR (66) and a quick 1-0 lead.   Leading off the  bottom of the 1st, Juan Soto answers back with a solo HR (66) to tie the game 1-1.  Both pitching staffs settle down and both teams strand runners along the way as the game goes into extra innings tied 1-1.  Bottom 12th, Romy Gonzalez leads off with a single and then Tatis goes deep to left center for a walkoff 2runHR and a Rebel win in game 1.

 

Game 2 – Tanner Houck BYZ vs Tarik Skubal AXYZ

 

Minutemen strike first top of the 3rd with 1 out.  Xavier Edwards doubles, Ketel Marte hits a rbi double to score 1, then Mookie Betts hits his 2nd HR of the series to put CM up 3-0.  Score stays 3-0 til bottom 6th.  Soto singles, Wallner gets HBP and then Bobby Witt hits a 3runHR to tie the game.  Bottom 7th, Juan Soto hits a 1out 2runHR with Gavin Lux on first to break the tie and give CR a 5-3 lead.  Nick Martinez (A*yzz) had come in for Skubal in the 7th and is able to pitch through the end of the game for the win.  Rebels lead series 2-0 and move to Culpeper home stadium.

 

Game 3 – Chris Sale AXYZ vs Shane Baz BY

 

CM is on the board first again with a Lane Thomas solo HR bottom 3rd.   Top 4th, Rebels bounce back as Bobby Witt hits a solo HR and then Jarren Duran hits a 2runHR with Yordan Alvarez on first and 2 out.  Score is 3-1 CR.   Top 9th, Duran walks but Bellinger and Gonzalez both K.  Then Tatis hits a 2out pinch hit double scoring Duran, and Soto hits a triple to score Tatis for a 5-1 lead.  Bottom 9th, CM rallies with solo HR from Sal Perez and Ketel Marte (ph) but Eugenio Suarez K’s to end the inning and the game.  Rebels take a 3-0 series lead.

 

Game 4 – Reynaldo Lopez AX vs Blake Snell BKW

 

Rebel bats are hot out of the gate with a Soto double, Tatis 2runHR, Witt double later scoring on a Muncy sac fly.   Duran singles and Bellinger  doubles him hom and then scores from second on a Ryan Jeffers single.  CR bats around in the 1st scoring 5 runs.  Top 3rd, Duran singles again, Bellinger walks (W) and with 2out, Juan Soto hits a 3runHR to extend the lead to 8-0.  A Gavin Lux brings home Bellinger with a rbi double, and then scores on a Juan Soto 2runHR in the 5th.  Score is now 11-0 CR.   A Ketel Marte double in the 6th breaks up a Lopez no hit bid and Corbin Carrol triples to score Marte for the first CM run.  CR adds 2 more in the 9th on a Muncy 2runHR and that’s how the score ends at 13-1.   CR wins the series 4-0.

 
 

Series MVP – Juan Soto   .588  6xbh, 4 HR 6 runs 9 rbi in 4 games.
